The dive sites around Las Terrenas offers a wide range of diverse and varied dives. Range of caves, canyon diving, shipwreck. And if the weather is not with us we also have a Cenotes 1h30 from Las Terrenas. We have less than 20 minutes by boat, 12 of the most beautiful dive sites throughout the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

Turtle Dive Center is in El Paseo in Las Terrenas 829-903-0659 They offer lessons in diving and snorkeling. There are 12 dive sites within 20 minutes by boat. On a typical dive you might see sea fans, large Lion Fish, Fish Soldiers, Gireles and an occasional Barracuda or Moray Eel.



Las Terrenas has grown to be the second top spot for kiteboarding in the country (Cabarete being n1). The prevailing eastern thermal winds and tranquil pools separated by dead reef, provide the perfect conditions for kiters year round, even if the best sessions are usually in the summer time. People come from all over the world  to learn and practice this new found water sport. Something to point out is that thanks to these conditions, Las Terrenas has produced a few youngsters that are between the top kiters in the world.


Las Terrenas has beaches and reef´s that point north and East, both of these receive the prevailing north, north east and east swells that roll in from November through to late April, thus creating perfect conditions for surfing. A few well known surf spots are: “Coson” (north swell), “El Conde” (north east swell), “Dos Ríos” (north and north east) and the epic “Fred is Dead” (East) that is about 45 minutes east. Also, Playa Bonita is a perfect beginners spot thanks to the outside reef that turns big waves into long lines of mushy surf, creating unbeatable conditions for longboarding or learning to surf. In the same way as Kitesurfing, Las Terrenas has also produced some very good surfers who have also represented the country in International events.
